jcrew all day

denim jacket, shirt, skirt, bracelet - jcrew, / shoes - anne klein / ring- south moon under / purse- michael kors / shades- gucci / necklace - betsey johnson

The other night I had dinner with my mom in the town of Clifton. It’s a quaint little place that I grew up only five minutes away from. It feels like a vacation even if I’m going only for dinner and drinks, everyone is extremely friendly and I always meet someone new. We stopped to eat at the Main Street Pub and finished up with drinks across the street at the Clifton Wine Store which has numerous amazing wines from all over the world. They also sell macaroons made by the wonderful Andrea Carmona. I studied abroad in Paris and macarons were my go to (I could literally eat them all day) - I’ve been searching for anything comparable ever since, and these are the closest things I’ve had since being back in the states! My absolute favorite is the pistachio and the Colombian coffee & chocolate macaron…actually I lied they’re all my favorite! You should check her out, you won’t be disappointed. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

We wanted to send her some love and let you guys know about the amazing vintage she sells. Quinn shares a love for fashion like we do, but her specialty is all things vintage. She really has an eye for detail and picks some really amazing things from jackets and dresses to jewelry!

sephora: new finds and old favorites

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Smart Gel BB - this was our first choice, a friend of ours had told us about it and she swears by the stuff, so from her sheer excitement about the product alone we were intrigued. It only comes in 2 shades (light to medium and medium to dark*shown in the picture*). Although limiting to many, it was perfect for us (light for jackie and dark for lauren). We didn't bother asking for assistance on this from anyone at sephora we just dove right into using the product and can we say, this is something everyone needs in their makeup arsenal. we both suffer from having oily skin so for us this helped prolong the time from application to that first time using oil blotting sheets or oil absorbing powder. I don't think either of us can get enough of this product and as far as we are concerned it deserves 5 stars.
Tarte LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint - our wild card...so this started out as jackie's buy. She has other colors in this collection and has been raving about it for months. I however am not the biggest lip gloss or lipstick fan. give me some blistex and I'm good. however once persuaded to use it i was sold. jackie loves it for the fact that it is super matte and transitions from day to night really well and hardly needs touched up throughout the day. I agree, I think that was part of my resistance to lip color is the maintenance is requires. Not this stuff, its great, upon application you get a little minty blast that also feels great. apply as much as you like for a dramatic look or just a couple dabs for a little punchy bit of color.
Nars Orgasm - well I'm sure that unless you have been living under a rock for the last 6 years you have heard of this stuff. I know we are by far not the only girls in love with it, but we have to give credit where credit is due. With the weather slowly but surely changing we will be wearing this stuff consistently. now this stuff is no one trick pony, the color is versatile enough that both of us can wear it and it lasts season to season to give you a subtle and sleek accent to your base makeup. kuddos nars because we will be wearing this stuff to the grave.
Josie Maran Bear Naked wipes - now this gem was found completely on accident. while in college I was always on a hunt for a great makeup removing wipe. literally out of pure laziness because coming home at 4 am and not taking my makeup off wasn't cutting it, and lets be real I wasn't even considering getting up to wash my face. I originally was introduced to these as a 100pt reward from sephora and after trying one - I went back and bought 2 more packs to keep on hand. adorable packaging aside, these wipes are heavenly. They have an amazing smell, they are really soft, durable, and they make your skin feel soft and clean (some wipes leave a residue or have your face feeling dry or like you need to wash it after using). they are a little expensive I must admit, but like my mother always says somethings aren't meant to go cheap on and your skincare especially your face is not one.

Enjoy!
